Frequently asked questions

What is your timeline?

It is best to reach out about 1-2 months in advance of needing the materials especially for projects that use the full suite of services and during typical wedding season (April - October). Although, I am willing to work with tight timelines if needed. Please reach out even if your timeline is shorter.

What is the best way to contact you?

Submit a form on my contact page. It’s the best way to gather all information that I need to get a clearer picture of your calligraphy needs. Even if you are unsure on the specifics for your needs this moment, it will put you on my radar to get on my calendar for work.

What is The best format for addresses, names, etc?

Providing all information in an Excel and editable Word files (not PDFs) work best. My only ask is that you spell out everything exactly as you want it written. That applies to names and formal titles, states, or words like “Road” and “Avenue.” Also, I will never assume titles or genders for your guests. However you write them is how I will write them, too.

What are the costs?

Depending on your project, number of lines written, and materials will be factored into the total price. You can find all price listings under the Pricing section or you can download the price list here: Flourish & Fonts Price List.

My Wedding is really soon, I don’t think I will fit in your timeline. should I bother asking?

Abso-freaking-lutely! I know how quickly the timelines fly by and I want to be your resource! Let’s see what we can create together.

How do I get my materials to you for B.Y.o.s.?

Once I have been contacted and we agree on what services you need, we can discuss drop off, pick up, or a meeting location. I am willing to travel throughout Baltimore City and some surrounding areas.

can i get my materials mailed back to me?

We can certainly arrange delivery, depending on the materials in your order. Mailings - no problem! A large mirror - maybe not so much. Shipping and handling fees will apply.

Is everything you do really hand-written?

YES! I use calligraphy markers and pens for work on paper goods, along with markers for glass or plastic surfaces. With that being said, there may be some small variations since everything is coming from my own hand. That’s what gives it the special charm.

How do I make payments?

I use HoneyBook for contracts and payment to be made with credit card or ACH (eCheck) bank transfer. If you need other payment options, we can discuss further. 50% of the cost is due at time of signing contract. Full payment is due on the day the project is set to be complete. Nothing will be due until we have fully figured out all the details.
